Hello, world, and welcome to Choices, Books and Gifts where you always have choices. My name is Jay DePaolo. I'm the owner of Choices Books and Gifts in New York City, a store dedicated to health, wellness and to the recovery community for over 30 years. I am the host of our podcast You Always Have Choices, where we dive deep into stories of transformation, healing, and personal growth.

So today, I'm very, very happy to have, our guest and our guest today is Jiulio Consiglio, and he's from Ontario, Canada. He is a spiritual teacher and author dedicated to the transformative power of inner stillness. The mind body, spirit, connection, and the development of psychic abilities. Jiulio advocates that there is life beyond fear and incessant thinking, which can be found in the dimension of inner stillness.

He is the author of Your Inner Healer and Open Your Third Eye, and has contributed to finding your calm. Giulio offers his consciousness-based teachings to both individuals and groups. And for more information, please visit www.juilioconsiglio.com, and to spell his last name for you. It's called consiglio. Let's welcome Jiulio, and thank you for being with us today.

How are you? I'm great. Jay how are you? I'm wonderful. And I'm grateful that you're here, doing this with us. And, if it's okay with you, I'm going to dive into some questions right away. Absolutely. Looking forward to those. Cool. All right. So my first one, can you please share your journey into spiritual teachings and what led you to focus on inner stillness and energy healing?

Between the ages of 19 and 33, I experienced some pretty profound and intense anxiety and the, depression that comes with it, despite, experiencing, these heavy emotions. I never let it stop me. I was educated the United States, got my degree, came back, started teaching and working clinical as I was graduating, my oldest and only brother was diagnosed with cancer.

And, he fought that for a year and, passed away, the following year. Sorry. Thank you. That had a massive, impact on me. And I really began to ask questions. Why things happen the way they do. He never smoked. He never drank. We trained for years in the martial arts. He was very physically active.

A couple of years gone by. I married my high school sweetheart, only to have that marriage crumble about two years after. Now, my attention is now getting perked up, and I'm starting to really, you know, trying to find out, like, what is going on here. A year after the marriage crumbled, I was given a cancer diagnosis.

Now, you would think that would be enough, intensity to create a shift in consciousness. It was actually, in 2005, I had an experience with a nightmare. And that was the final catalyst. And after having that experience, I remember the following day, getting ready to get ready to for work, I called out, and I demanded, another way.

I was really, I wanted answers and I wanted understanding. So I'd been staring a book. Staring at a book, by Doctor Daniel Amen. Of all names. Amen. And, it was change your brain, change your life. And I don't think I got past page 60 or 62. There was a line that went along the lines. When you allow negative thoughts to go unchallenged, that struck me deeply.

And, on this particular day, November 7th, 2005, I had a patient cancel. So I did, what I normally do. I jumped in the car, drove a few blocks, and just try to decompress. On this particular day, I had the book on the passenger side, and the moment I began to reflect on that phrase, not a male, not a female voice came audibly up through my chest and said, challenge your thoughts.

And in that instant, the space between my eyebrows began to vibrate intensely by shutting down the negativity in the darkness I'd been experiencing since I was 19. I remember turning my head and looking at a building and experiencing profound clarity, and that was just stillness coming to the forefront of my consciousness. Believe it or not, I still had a patient to get back to, and I have now this activated force.

I get back to the dental office, complete the patient, and I'm driving home. And now it's a really bad rainstorm, and it's about a 30 minute drive and coming, getting home. I feel like I'm coming into a space of surrender. And I jump on the couch and I, I just sort of cry out, just let me die. And in that instant, I popped out.

And what I mean is my awareness, my life force left. And when I came back, I knew exactly what had happened. And I was light as a feather within weeks, I began experiencing automatic writing. Within about four weeks, held my first talk and inner stillness. And during Christmas of 2005, wrote my first book over a seven day period, Challenge Your Thoughts.

And since that time, I've gone on to just continue writing and teaching and fulfilling my sole purpose. So that's in a nutshell. That led me.

It seems like a lot of the, negativity in your life and sad things that happened brought you to this enlightenment .That would be quite accurate. The interesting thing is I mentioned this often as far back as I can remember, even as a kid working in my dad's hardware store, seven, eight years old, my mind was always silent, but I was never fully aware of the silence.

Right. So that's great. So second question is, in your book, Your Inner Healer, you discussed the role of chakras in achieving wholeness. Could you explain how chakras impact our physical and emotional well-being? Absolutely. So our chakras are potentials within or that draw and operate through surrendered state of beingness. So operating through stillness, they come online and they are teeming with potential.

So, you know, for example, I'll focus on the root chakra being grounded in the root chakra, assist us to be anchored in the present moment gives us that strength and resiliency. So the chakras are from one point of view, transformers, and they are located within the subtle body which marries the soul to the physical body. So the potentials within them are absolutely incredible.

And what they can produce especially the third eye chakra.

Excellent, excellent. That's good, that's good. All right. Thanks for that answer. Number three, what are some common misconceptions about opening the third eye, which you just spoke about and how do you address them in open to open your third eye?

Probably the biggest misconception is people have this idea or concept that they're third eyes is open.

The truth of the matter is, the third eye is always operating at some level, and depending on our resistance or nonresistance, will determine just how much information, clarity, wisdom, understanding will receive. So that's the biggest misconception. And just quickly, the second one would probably be because I used to be in the dental field. People will comment, you know, fluoride, you know, will it impede it?

I used to give myself fluoride treatments and, it didn't stop my third eye from activating.

That's so interesting that the third eye is always there, even though we don't realize it. And I didn't know. Were you with dentists? I was a dental hygienist, than educator. Oh. Excellent. Excellent. Okay. From one field to the next. I sort of did that, too.

From the restaurant business. I jumped into self-help and wellness. So. And like you, I started in a small family business. My parents had a small Italian restaurant, so I too, like you. And your hardware store works for my parents at a very young age. Lots of similarities. Number four how does one begin to develop their psychic abilities in a healthy and safe manner?

Probably a few insights are necessary. Number one is, we're always being divinely guided and understanding that our psychic abilities are there for us, to assist us to really live our full potential. So some, some key points is raising one's vibrational frequency. So really operating through the present moment, present moment is teeming with potential and ascending and supporting energies and learning to quiet the mind.

So meditation on stillness, those two, it really should be at the forefront of one's goal because through stillness, potentials become activated and come to life.

So with that quietness, it's a good it's a way to get in touch with the quietness and the meditation. Absolutely. When you're in silence, the barrier or the egoic wall comes down, and now there's just communion with the highest self or source, and it's through that still, there's I always say wisdom is a one way street from the high self to the local mind.

How do we get people to meditate? Do they go online and learn? Do they take, course, listen to a CD. I want to really sort of demystify and really simplify meditation. Meditation is simply focus. So whatever you're focused on in the present moment, your awareness, you can make, washing dishes, a meditation. So just being don't have it still you don't just sit quietly.

You can be doing something active and meditate. Absolutely. So like a walking meditation, that's how I operate everything. I bring beingness to doing this. So it's we're never you're not you never wanting to try to meditate. You want to become aware of the awareness or aware of the stillness and, really just focus. Cool. Wow. Very good.

All right. What are some practical tools for techniques you would recommend to someone just starting to explore their spiritual side? That's a great question. A couple of things  I would suggest is, number one, recognize that we are a mind, body and spirit and come into the awareness of just what it means to embody your spiritual nature and what it reflects.

So the spiritual nature is stillness. It's peace, it's clarity. It reflects a quiet mind. And once you begin to understand that and you bring awareness to that, I always say awareness is everything. We're so powerful as creative beings. What we bring awareness to shifts potential to possibility. So understanding what the soul emanates is a great starting point.

It gives you something to look towards and focus on. That's wonderful. So that stillness you're talking about, that quietness, helps us get in touch with that spiritual side of ourselves. Absolutely. So the soul, the highest self, reflects inner stillness. It's eternally silent. It's unyielding to this world. It's non reactive. And because of what it is, unconditional love, it consumes negativity and fear instantly.

So one is not left, you know, days, weeks, months, dealing with anger. It's transmuted instantly. Cool. Thank you. Thank you so much. In what ways can inner stillness transform our personal and professional lives? There is so much potential, you know, inner stillness is teeming. It's the unified field. So you're able to access spiritual faculties, you're able to tap into, we're now getting into multidimensional other aspects of ourselves.

Sometimes we wonder, you know, why all the sudden we have this particular talent and that you're only tapping into other versions of yourself because the unified field so inner stillness can transform our lives, bring peace, clarity, wisdom. And through that stillness, we can be divinely directed, by the highest self and by our spirit guides, shaving a lot of sort of frustration, futility and, loss of time in terms of manifesting that which we desire.

And in your book, too, you go over a lot of this. Can someone read the book and begin their own little practice? Absolutely. So your inner healer is packed with insights, meditations, exercises geared towards the beginner and as well as those who are more along their journey. Jiulio, can I ask you to show us the book so we get a better understanding of what it looks like?

And then I'll talk a little bit about where you can get it. Can you show us the book? Absolutely. So there it is folks. Your inner Healer by Jiulio Consiglio. You can get this on Amazon. There are ways to purchase it. If you go to his website, there are links to get the book. And you can also get it at, choices, books and gifts.

Thank you sir. Next question. How do you integrate modern psychological understanding with traditional spiritual practices in your teachings? Oh, that's a great question. So I take the concept of what psychology or psychiatry refers to as the ego, and I shed light on it and in real actually present it as, the shadow self. Or it's just simply our human conditioning and how it's not a permanent consciousness that it is ultimately a catalyst for the shift into the dimension of inner stillness.

So for those, for example, who are very sensitive to energy and who've suffered from anxiety and the depression that comes with it, the thinking mind can become a catalyst. And it's not the only level of awareness. There's a level of awareness beyond it, and it's a level of peace and it's inner stillness. And that will help us get to, to where, as you did, defeat a lot of these depression, negative thoughts and things like that.

So  stillness is super important. It's key because it is unconditional love in essence. And when one is really anchored through stillness, you're nonresistant. So any negativity that arises to the surface, it's observed rather than immediately identified with. And that's what alchemy is  it or transmute it. Excellent, excellent. What advice do you have for dealing with skepticism from others about energy medicine and psychic development?

And do you have a lot of, as I say, people that doubt your way of doing things? The way I would approach those, essentially is the spiritual teachings that come through consciousness or through stillness, really speak for themselves. So there are certain truths like if we briefly reflect, for example, the present moment is all there ever is.

If we briefly take a moment and reflect on the past, it always arrived in the present. It's a mind construct. The future never arrives. It only arrives in the present moment. It unfolds. It's always a mind construct.  So that's linear time. I have experienced over the years, the occasional person, but for the, for the most part, people have been very receptive.

I always felt it's very important to make it understandable and applicable. Coming from a very high vibrational base of awareness, without any sort of relativity, I'd be of no purpose to anyone. Yeah, yeah. And I think that's always great advice. What you said you sort of and I of lack of better words to sort of dumb you down. So, you know, anybody can really understand that and get the concept. How do you see the relationship between traditional medical practices and energy healing evolving in the future? Would said something that could work together or..? That's a great question. I see medicine still being useful, especially emergency medicine. But, for the most part, it's been shown to sort of be antiquated in a sense and not serving in terms of what the soul really needs, for example.

So I tried the conventional route to get over the anxiety and depression and I really didn't find any answers there. So they can be complementary to each other. But the key is realizing that there is a mind-body connection and that we can tap into the inner healer within us. Great. Yeah. I do agree. I feel that the two can work together, and especially your process, a long term, I think is a better solution than. And as you said earlier, the quick stuff that you need help with is good. But the long the long run is definitely where you're coming from. And the calmness and stillness. You contribute to finding your calm. What are your go to practices for finding that calm in a chaotic times? My go to practices are observing the inner and outer world, living moment by moment through the present moment.

A great way to do that is to follow your breaths. So there's abot 86,000 seconds in a day. A master dies half that time. So you take a breath in and breath out another ego death is taken place. You let that moment die. You're reborn or renewed. So observing the outer world and observing the inner world, those are key. Sort of foundational.

That's wonderful. Wonderful. How do you maintain your own spiritual health and ensure you are also growing and evolving? And I would imagine that we're never there. We're always in the process. Correct. I always say enlightenment is always only the beginning. So, operating moment by moment continuously through inner stillness, I still have one hand grounded in my humanity, while the other one is pointed towards universal consciousness.

So even my initial shift and coming into the wisdom and clarity I did in 2005, I'm now lifetimes even beyond that. So there's many rooms in the mansion, many rooms of understanding. So there's really nothing that we can't tap into the potentials and possibilities.

Yeah, yeah. You know, in my own process throughout the years, you know, until I learned that spiritual way I was in trouble for long periods of time.

And now, you know, stuff comes up, but I'm able to reach in profoundly, go deep and get out of my problems so much sooner or quicker than I used to be able to do that. And I'm sure that's something that you are accomplished at as well. You become quite more efficient at managing or transmuting, negativity or emotions.

Yeah, absolutely. Cool, cool. Could you share any insights on how our digital connected world impacts our spiritual development and inner peace? I think it serves its purpose and there are many benefits to it, but it's important to have a balance and not get too carried away. You know, if it's a matter of taking certain moments throughout the day and just saying, I'm going to turn away from this stuff, and I'm not going to answer every single email immediately.

That's practicing, that's cultivating inner balance. Yeah, I myself try to a few hours a day, leave it all behind, not even if I go to work out in the gym. The phone stays in the locker. I see, you know, everybody trying to work out on the phone. And you know I can't do two things at once and just not build that way.

Yeah. And I know, like I grew up in the 80s so we never had really much technology, you know, in terms of. So I'm used to that. And I could easily, walk away from the technology. You wouldn't. Yeah. I prefer it even. Absolutely. I use it only because it's a must. But other than that, I try to stay away from it, I really do.

I still read books. You know, I do a lot of different things not to do with technology, which I prefer my life to have in it. It's simpler. It's simpler, so simple. So, if I were to ask you, well, let me just read the question. As it stands, we're about to wrap up. Is there any parting thoughts you want to share with the audience?

Anything you want to leave them with? I know that may be a difficult question, but, you know, feel free to tell us what your thoughts are. I would say that, we're going through a collective shift in consciousness, and there's nothing that can really stop it. So, it's important to remember the chaos and the sort of the unsettled-ness that's taking place in the collective and in the outside world.

It should be a reminder to come back to the clarity, wisdom and peace of inner stillness. There is no sort of salvation, being focused out there. So regardless of what's happening in the outer world, cultivate, you know, make be preemptive in your positive thinking and manifest what you want to see in your world while not being attached to what's going on in the outer.

And that's how you actually live empowered. So you're living from the inside out rather from than the outside in. So that I would imagine that takes some work. That takes work, and it's a matter of becoming the observer or aligning with the silent witness within the soul. Just briefly, we had just had a tragedy in our life. On Monday, we lost our puppy dog.

Lisa is suffering tremendously as well as I am. It is so difficult we chose to do these podcasts to hopefully help ourselves get out of our  constant thinking about this problem. How does that help with grieving? Because we are grieving. I totally understand that. I've had dogs all my life. So, I first want to say I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you.

You want to you want to not suppress. You want to allow the grieving process to unfold. You can't rush it. You can't, say, you know, get over it type of thing. You have to allow it to sort of dissipate, and it will all, you know, everything is, the reminder that's coming to me is everything is temporary.

So you're always going to miss the puppy. You're always going to miss it. But you got to allow just some time to pass and allow, you know, if you feel like crying, cry. If you feel like, you know, honoring the puppy in some way, do it. But know that, life is eternal and even, you know, the consciousness of dogs.

They go on. So very sorry for your loss. We really needed to hear that. And we've been doing exactly what you said. We've been crying and sharing stories and talking about it. And we even went to Central Park yesterday, and we visited a lot of places that she enjoyed going to. So I feel from what you just explained to us, we're on the right track.

I just need to add this. I'd be remiss if I didn't, as I was explaining that you guys, I had this puppy energy just down dancing around me. So the puppy, the energetic version of it is around you guys. Pay attention. You might be able to tap into that, but, yeah, I just I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that.

Jiulio, thank you so much. So, in closing, and with that, we will wrap up this episode of Choices podcast. I hope our time together was inspiring and motivating. Stay empowered. Stay well. You can watch this episode. It probably will take a couple of weeks and all episodes on our website at choices gifts.com. Peace and blessings to you always.

And we'll see you next week. Thank you so much.
