Alanon is for friends and family members of problem drinkers. Its a 12 step program designed to help members in their own recovery journey, as they apply the principles of 12 step to their individual situations. Younger family members and friends attend Alateen meetings.
In this program, members learn that they are not alone in the problems they face, and that they have choices that lead to a greater peace of mind, whether the drinker continues to drink or not.
